The Rick Report:
First Game As A Bull For The Second Time
Chicago Bulls 102, Orlando Magic 88
December 17th, 2003

Rick Brunson's trade to the Chicago Bulls is a pain in the ass. Not only has Toronto lost it's favourite whipping boy but now we've got to pull double-duty on these game-by-game reports. Just to spite us Brunson went out and played his best game of the season. Of course, it was against the Magic so there should be some asterisk beside the stats.

Brunson had 10 minutes of game time last night. Yes, that equals his entire Raptor career game time. He shot 2 for 5 for 5 points with 3 rebounds and 3 assists. He also showcased that legendary hard-nosed defense by hacking away for 3 fouls. Not only has Rick's game been rejuvenated he's proven quite the ambassador he assisted on the last basket of the game which was scored by none other than Chris Jefferies.

While Brunson didn't play that much he must have had an effect on his teammates. Kirk Hinrich, feeling that his starting point guard job must be in trouble, responded by putting up 21 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds. Kendall Gill had 29 points. Brunson's veteran leadership also allowed Scottie Pippen the security of knowing this team was in safe hands as he opted for knee surgery. Either that or he finally realized that by trading for Brunson this season was pretty much over.

Game Notes
  • Thanks to Rick Brunson's careful tutelage Jamal Crawford shot 1 for 12 from 3-point land.
  • Antonio Davis welcomed Rick back as a teammate by scoring 5 points in 33 miniutes of "effort."
  • Is Juwan Howard the Ted McGinley of the NBA?

Does this look official?  It ain't. (C) 2003 Rick Brunson Fan Club -
