| The Raptors scored a mere 4 points against the Washington freakin' Wizards in this game's second quarter. At least the last time it happened the Raps were depleted by injury, playing the eventual NBA Champs, and giving Lenny something special to remember for the night he set the record for the most coaching losses.
During the Raptors open practice just two weeks ago the fans were amazed at how many shots the Raptors missed while playing against no defense. Maybe they should have been practicing against actual people. That might have gotten them ready for the real games. You can talk all you want about how great the defense has been but this is getting downright unwatchable.
After this debacle the Raptors are now averaging 73.0 points per game. I don't need to tell you that a pace like this breaks just about every NBA record for offensive futility. Chances are that the Pizza Pizza people aren't worried about handing out any free pizza this year.
The Raptors lone bright spot was Morris Peterson who had his second solid game in a row (thus setting a new Mo-Pete career record). Peterson had 11 points on 4 for 7 shooting and had 3 steals as well. Do we want to list the lowlights? Well there is Milt Palacio's 2 points or Lamond Murray's 5 turnovers or Vince Carter's 2 rebounds to talk about. Oh yeah, Antonio Davis (0 points, 7 rebounds) got totally outplayed by Christian Laettner (9 points, 11 rebounds)! I won't be too hard on the guy though. He's got to go home and hear about it from his wife.
