Raptors TV Announces All-New Fall Lineup!
Most of it still ain't ball games
November 12th, 2003
Rick Brunson .com, in conjunction with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd., is pleased to announce a new long-term partnership with Raptors TV that promises to set a 14K gold standard for 'Vaguely Sports-Related "Premium" Television Programming' (VSRPTP).
John Shannon, VP of Programming and Executive Producer at MLSE, looked like a great burden had been taken off his shoulders as he made the following statement to the assembled media at a press conference in the Nike Flight Deck this morning:
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure and overwhelming relief that I officially announce I am handing the reins of Raptors TV over to the fine folks at Rick Brunson .com. The Raptors TV team has struggled to produce quality content for over two years now, and quite frankly even I was completely fed up with watching my own crap."
"By bringing Rick Brunson .com into the picture, we have capitalized on their growing popularity, while at the same time completely rejuvenating our passion for improving the quality of our vaguely sports-related programming."
"I can honestly tell you that these guys came to the table with a true wealth of new programming ideas, spoken in a sweet, smooth and monotone voice. And as each concept was slowly and soothingly laid out on the table, we found ourselves simply unable and unwilling to say no! In the end, we just decided to turn the entire schedule over to them and let them go nuts!"
Shannon then dimmed the lights for a preview of some of the new show concepts currently in production:

Late Night With Mengke Bateer
This wacky late-night variety show sticks to a tried-and-true formula, with Bateer opening each evening with a hip 10-minute stand-up comedy routine performed in broken English. The show then works its way through a series of candid all-star celebrity interviews agonizingly conducted through Bateer's translator. Keeping with the b-ballin' theme the usual talk-show couch has been tossed in favour of a pine bench. At the far end of Bateer's Bench sits chortling side-kick Rick Brunson who gets up to deliver a well-timed butt-slap after each and every one of Bateer's outrageous jokes.

At least 15 ballers are guaranteed to be gettin' their torches snuffed! It don't get any better than this!

Raptors Quackery
Raptors Athletic Trainer Chuck Mooney provides an eye-opening education in the art of concocting player injuries to help keep the IL roster constantly turning over. Using Rick Brunson and Chris Jefferies as assistants, Chuck demonstrates how to effectively fake a limp, pretend to hold your back and wince, or convincingly stub your toe in order to qualify for a little rest and relaxation off the court. It's back to the hot tub for you, Mr. Brunson! You're next, Mr. Jefferies!

Lance Fabolous Fashion File
If bitchiness is the only thing that can cheer you up, then Lance Fabolous is the reporter for you! Each week this mud-raker extraordinaire concocts a brand new list of rumours, gossip and fashion faux pas and then proceeds to verbally cat-scratch every Raptor player who qualifies.
Not brave enough to actually say anything to their faces, he shrieks comments from the sidelines during home games and then flees flamboyantly before the final buzzer sounds.

Cooking With Curry!
For a full five days a week you can spend your lunchtime in the kitchen with the Raptors own Iron Chef, Michael Curry! Each episode features a special guest who will challenge Michael to a culinary duel involving an ingredient of their choice. The dishes they prepare are carefully judged by your very own Rick Brunson .com team! We are really looking forward to JYD's pork rib challenge... A special episode has also been planned involving Iron Chef Japanese Masaharu Morimoto himself! But we'll get somebody else to eat his crap.

Eating With Stanley!
After every taping of Cooking With Curry, Raptors cast-off Stanley Roberts rampages through the kitchen set eating anything and everything in his path while helpless sous-chefs fling ladles in self-defence.
Stanley ends the show by declaring his satisfaction with the meal by belching the alphabet.
It's part monster movie, part Super Elimination Challenge, part Animal House!

Everybody Hates Rautins
Guaranteed to be the most popular new sitcom on television, Everybody Hates Rautins chronicles the awkward yet fiery relationship between the obnoxious, self-centred Leo Rautins and his passionate but stand-offish partner Chuck Swirsky.
Comedy abounds as Chuck, Leo, and their extended hoops family bumble their way through ball game after ball game.
In particular, watch for the unintentional commentating comedy of Paul Jones and Damian Goddard in what could be award-winning supporting roles.
